Positions Page: Alpha

I thought it appropriate that we begin the Positions Pages with Alpha. Please feel free to add comments and discussion. I will put a new position up every week or so.

Rev 1:8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

From sitting position, straighten legs in front of body, arms come behind body. Flex feet (or point) and lift chest, press out through the arms and straighten body. Head may drop back for added intensity, modify by keeping aligned with body or tucking chin to chest.

Muscles engaged back, chest, arms, core

Type of Position Balance, Strength

Verbal Cue Opening ourselves to God’s sovereignty…the beginning and the end

Adjustments keep chin tucked to chest to alleviate neck stress, slight bend to elbows

Decrease intensity by bending at the knees, or not lifting lower body from floor, keep weight on arms
Increase intensity by opening chest further, lifting midsection, bending elbows more
